DescriptionThe annual Sydney Invitational Meet is for a selection of Winter Swimming clubs, predominantly from the Eastern seaboard of NSW, to compete with each other. It was formally known as the Southern Metropolitan Meet. This meet prepares swimmers for the annual Winter Swimming Championships which will be held in Orange, NSW, this year.
The clubs which competed this year are:
Balmain Kool Kats, Bondi Icebergs, Bronte Splashers, Clovelly Eskimos, Foster Turtles, Maroubra Seals, Coogee Penguins and Stanwell Park Sea Eels.
What a day it was for the Bergs winning the men's and women's point score and the champion club. There was some very fast swimming and congratulations to all winners and place getters, and particularly Ned Wiedland for winning the Male Swimmer of the Meet.
